All public places use one bench per learner, a maximum cohort of six and direct tutor assessment. Public places are normally available 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Employer blocks require 4 weeks notice.

Half-Day Welding Introduction

A four-hour one-to-one introduction for a learner who wants a controlled first arc, a process comparison or a decision before booking a full foundation course.

MIG

MIG Foundation Day

A direct one-day course for learners who need repeatable machine setting, clean tacks and a fillet weld that can be inspected without excuses.

  • Set wire feed, voltage and travel speed against material thickness.
  • Practise flat and horizontal fillets, tack spacing and crater control.

TIG

TIG Stainless Introduction

Two days on stainless steel for learners who need disciplined torch angle, filler addition and a slower, cleaner route into TIG than a demonstration video can give.

Day 1Bench posture, tungsten prep, arc length, torch starts, autogenous runs and filler timing.
Day 2Joint preparation, outside corners, fillets, heat tint control and purge discussion for supervised work.
  • AC/DC TIG sets are available. Aluminium is only by prior arrangement.
  • Stainless practice material, filler, gas, helmet, gauntlets and jacket are included.

MMA Stick Site Repair Course

Two days for maintenance workers and tradespeople who need more control over electrode choice, restart quality and positional work before the pressure of a site repair.

Fabrication

Five-Day Fabrication And Welding Skills Block

A workshop block for learners who need the sequence as much as the arc: measure, mark, cut, drill, tack, control distortion and inspect the finished fillet.

  1. Measuring, marking out and cutting to a tolerance agreed at induction.
  2. Drilling, deburring, clamp strategy, square checks and tack sequence.
  3. Distortion control, fillet weld assessment and individual evidence pack.

Coded-Test Preparation

Preparation Day Plus Independent Examiner Slot

From £790

Practice is matched to the intended test type and material where possible. The academy trains, records and arranges independent examination when required.

What Is Practised

Joint preparation, fit-up, machine range, stop-start discipline, positional control and visual inspection against the agreed test route.

What The Examiner Controls

Test conditions, acceptance, pass or fail decision and any formal approval documentation. No coded-weld pass is promised.

Private Booking

Employer Group Day

Private workshop day for up to six learners. A single process keeps the day tight, although mixed objectives can be planned when the employer is clear about the priority.

  • Employer blocks require 4 weeks notice and a 30% deposit.
  • Employer-site awareness sessions are available within 35 miles of Rotherham for a minimum of 4 learners.
  • Travel is charged at £0.65 per mile after the first 10 miles.

No VAT is currently charged. A 30% deposit secures the bench and the balance is due 7 calendar days before training.

Cancellation inside 5 working days is transferable once but not refundable because the bench, gas and examiner time are held.
